I was born up north, but was raised in the south by my parents from PA and CA.  So I never considered myself to be a southern girl until I met my husband while I was in college in AL.  He was this handsome Marine on leave for the weekend, and I was a music and theatre major who knew nothing about the military. At the time I had no intention of getting married and having children. But as the old story goes, boy goes off on a ship, girl and boy start writing, boy and girl fall in love.   And so in 1999 I married my husband who had recently ended his enlistment in the military.  It didn't take him long to feel like a fish out of water and so he re-joined the Marine Corps and our lives have been a whirlwind since!  We have one beautiful daughter with no plans to have any more children.  I admire my friends who have more than one child, but am smart enough to know that it is not for me.  We have moved quite a bit and are currently living in a small Marine Corps town in a coastal community.

My days consist of your garden variety household chores, family errands etc.  I volunteer at my daughters school and on base.  I sing and write when I get the chance.  I am blessed with a wonderful family and a life that may not be exciting to most, but gives me a contentment I never thought possible.
