What is Many Kind Regards?
We are an online writing community focused on the unique challenges of creating content for a virtual audience. |
Many Kind Regards started as a personal blog in 2008. Created by Erin Whitehead, its original purpose was to share her thoughts about life as a mother, volunteer, and military spouse. Its namesake is derived from a play she wrote in college by the same name detailing the love story of her grandparents during World War II. A large part of the play revolved around the hundreds of letters they wrote during their courtship while her grandfather was stationed overseas. Each letter was penned with the signature "Many Kind Regards", hence the name. When she began her personal blog, her own husband was serving in the United States Marine Corps and frequently deployed. Just as it had for her grandparents, the written word became not only a way to stay connected with her spouse, but was a source of expression and healing.
The site was re-vamped as a writing community in 2014. After years of working closely with a large and diverse group of writers during her time as Digital Editor for Military Spouse Magazine, she developed a passion for helping writers navigate the unique challenges and benefits of writing for an online audience. Since the re-launch, Many Kind Regards has worked to create three different tiers of community: in-house writers working closely with our editorial staff, writers who desire to improve their own online presence through their content, and the readers who enjoy our diverse library of content.

Erin Whitehead, the Creator of Many Kind Regards, is a vocalist, speaker, author, social media marketer, copy writer, and content consultant. Most recently, she began offering services as a Creative Concept Coach (website coming soon), helping her clients turn basic ideas into creative concepts that propel their businesses, non-profits, and personal projects forward. Well-known for her knowledge about the military spouse community, you can find hundreds of her articles about military family life at Military Spouse Magazine where she was the Digital Editor for four years. In that role she was instrumental in creating a vibrant social media community and an excellent online resource for the 1.1 million men and women who are married to members of our Armed Forces. Currently she works as the Director of Marketing for PCS Grades, a trusted community of military members, veterans, and their families who review the many services military families need when they relocate. She is also an original member of The American Military Spouses Choir, featured on Season 8 of America's Got Talent.
Erin has been married to Joseph Whitehead for over 16 years and they have two beautiful daughters. A work-from-home Mom, she works hard to balance her professional roles with the demands of a teenager who is a member of a competition marching band and her energetic three year old. Her husband retires from the USMC in June and the family is ready for a new chapter of their life to begin in the panhandle of Florida where Erin was raised.

Samantha Dean is the Associate Editor at Many Kind Regards. She is originally from Northern Virginia but, thanks to her husband’s career in the Marine Corps, has lived near the beaches of North Carolina, the island of Oahu, and is currently learning about life in a small southern town. She loves writing, baking, sewing, reading, and hoarding ideas on Pinterest. She has two daughters who keep her on her toes at all times. She is technically a stay at home mom, but is constantly surprised by how little she’s actually at home. She loves meeting new people and trying new projects, and is still surprised every time she calls herself a runner.
